Okay, so I know I haven’t been writing for a while now (three months to be exact), but I had a really good reason: there was nothing to write about. The last couple of months haven’t been as exciting as the time I spent in Mexico, so I figured nobody would want to read about my serious binch-watching-series issues.
The Last Three Months
For those dying to know what I was doing anyway, here’s a quick update. For those who witnessed the last couple of months, or are simply not interested in what I do in my life, please skip to the end.
I spent Christmas with my dad, aunt and cousins in the US. As always, goofy pictures were made and ugly onesies were present. Not even joking about the onesie, it’s name is even “ugly Christmas sweater onesie’. And as you can see in the pictures, not just the onesie in ugly. We ate an enormous roast on Christmas Eve (or was it Christmas day? Who cares, there was enough food to feed the entire country on both occasions). After Christmas, my dad and I went to Las Vegas for two days and went to see the Beatles: Love! show by Cirque Du Soleil. It was amaze-balls.
After our little trip, I spent three weeks sailing around the Caribbean with my mom. We went diving (nope, still not sick of it) ans hopped from island to island. We spent NYE having amazing food in a restaurant with a live steel drum band. It gives a really Caribbean-y vibe, although every song sounds exactly the same. Sorry, no pictures available from this trip. Live with it.
A week after New Year’s, I came home and went on a family weekend. This was super weird, they made us herd sheep. Which was not a great success, the dogs were way better at it than us.

Somewhere in last three months, I also went to London with crazy chicken lady Birgit, went skiing in Switzerland with Floris and spent a weekend playing boardgames with my crazy-ass friends in Holland. Next to this, there was a looooooooot of laying on the couch and watching series. I restarted New Girl and finished it, watched a bunch of movies and eventually decided to start watching Grey’s Anatomy again. You will be proud to know that I’m currently almost at the end of season 3.
The Next Four Months
To my regret, I’m not gonna be able to keep watching Grey’s. Eventually, my days of couch-potatoing and dogsitting had to end. I’m making another trip, this time to the other side of the world.
Current location: Timor-Leste.
Duration of stay: 7 weeks.
Reason of stay: Marine Conservation
(For those interested: https://blueventures.org/volunteer/timor-leste/)
No, 7 weeks is not the same as the four months I mentioned in the title. Give me some time to explain, jeez. The Marine conservation program is for 6 weeks, after which my lovely brother Friso, who is currently throwing up KFC, will join me for another week. After this we’re visiting Singapore and Thailand. Following this trip, Friso goes home and I go to Fiji for a month. That’s as far as my trip is planned right now, but a few extra stops will be added along the way.
Usually I end with: “Write you soon”, but the internet connections I’ll have on this trip won’t be as overflowing as on the last trip. So:
Write you when I can
xoxo Fi

Hope you have the time of your life …. now is the time to do this !
